Gül Model Long-Neck Saz

A handcrafted long-neck saz featuring a richly figured gloss bowl, natural acoustic soundboard, and a signature carved rose (gül) side rosette. Strung with tied microtonal frets, fret-marker dots, and dark hardwood pegs for effortless navigation of traditional modal folk music.

Description

An artisan-crafted long-neck saz distinguished by its expressive natural wood figure and signature carved rose/lotus soundhole (gül kafes). Built for balanced acoustic projection, warm sustain, and fluid microtonal playability, this instrument is designed for traditional folk melodies, Dengbêj storytelling, and regional modal repertoire.

The bowl is constructed from selected tone wood showcasing bold, flowing dark-and-gold grain patterns finished in a protective high gloss. Positioned on the upper side is the hallmark openwork floral soundhole rosette (gül), which enhances acoustic air movement while serving as a direct acoustic monitor for the player.

The soundboard features a clean, natural straight-grain acoustic top with a floating wooden bridge and a traditional tailpiece anchor. Its smooth, light natural neck is strung with precision-tied microtonal frets, accented with contrasting fret-marker dots along the fingerboard to assist with quick position shifts. The peghead is fitted with dark, sculpted hardwood friction pegs that provide strong contrast against the light headstock and allow steady, fine-tuned pitch adjustment.
