Description
Handcrafted Turkish Buzuq (Kurdish & Arabic Maqamat)
Crafted in Turkey, this artisan long-neck buzuq is built specifically for performing traditional Kurdish melodies and classic Arabic maqam modal systems. Fitted with movable tied microtonal frets along the full length of the neck, it delivers the exact quarter-tone intonation and flexibility needed for scales such as Bayati, Rast, Hijaz, and Saba.
The instrument features an eye-catching staved walnut-tone bowl accented with fine white pinstripe purfling between each rib, finished in a deep gloss. The soundboard is adorned with an ornate carved acoustic rosette and a flared black pickguard inlaid with an abalone treble clef motif. Along the fingerboard and extended heel joint, shimmering abalone/pearloid geometric inlays run the entire length, framed by clean white edge binding. The instrument is completed with modern chrome die-cast enclosed tuners on a sleek black headstock, ensuring smooth, rock-solid tuning stability.
